Christmas is one of the most important periods in the Christian year. But in the western world, it has become a commercial event, with gifts to take over the significance of the birth of Jesus Christ.

In the old days there was little thought of Christmas gift giving, and it was not until the 20th century that one day holiday.

The Christmas story still manages to the heart of almost every record, regardless of age or creed. The Christmas story with pictures of angels, shepherds, wise men, stable, and the birth of a child often to catch young minds. With regard to religion, celebrate Christmas the birth of Jesus Christ, Son of God. Sometimes Christmas to consider only one day, but it is actually a season that extends from four weeks to December 25 for two weeks.

Throughout the world, Christmas is celebrated in many different ways. In England you can visit the children of Santa Claus in many centers across the country. Children need to ensure that they do not wake up when he visits, or he leaves them no gifts! Christmas Day, most people in Britain tend to cook a turkey with all the trimmings. This is often followed by Christmas pudding, a delicious hot sticky sweet pudding served with brandy butter or clotted cream. The next day in Britain is known as Boxing Day, and it's usually another day to celebrate. Many people choose to go out on Boxing Day to go out excesses of the previous day or just to get some fresh air. In some coastal areas, there is often a Boxing Day swim, but it is only the very brave!
