Keeping Your Diet Simple for Success

One big problem is the complexity of dieting. It can be the food preparation because of foods you may not be familiar or exercise program. The diet you choose should fit your lifestyle and eating tastes. Forget about the fads and diets that claim large amount of weight lost with little or no effort. Also forget your celebrity diets especially Oprah and other as she has been on more diets than you and they are all the next greatest diet to be discovered. What about the last 10 diets she was on?

Dieting is not easy but it does not need to be complex. Keep your meals simple and wholesome. The diet you choose should be simple to prepare, especially if you have a busy schedule, and enjoy. Yes you need to enjoy the meal. Diets do not need to be bland or bad tasting you just need to have recipes that bring out the flavors of the food.

Choose the diet that you know will work because you like the foods. If you are not a big eater of meats then a high protein diet is not going to work. If you like vegetables and fish you may want to look into the Mediterranean Diet. If you are a meat and potato person, the no-nonsense diet you may want to try the Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle Diet. There are hundreds of diet to choose from so do your research and choose the plan that fits your lifestyle and food tastes.

When exercising start immediately do not wait till Monday. Start now and adjust later. Many people push the exercise off until it is convenient or they can get ready for it. Start now even if it is a ten minute walk around the block. Start the body getting used to the exercise. You can also start your diet by cutting 300 calories from your diet. Do not wait. The longer you wait for the start the harder and more weight you will need to lose.

If there is more than one person in your house that needs to lose weight get them involved. The more people you can get involved the better and easier it will be to lose weight as we all want to succeed and now you can get help from someone who is losing weight with you. This is also a great way to make exercising more fun and make the time pass faster.

When you plan your meal make sure you do not skip breakfast and make sure your big meals are breakfast and lunch. You want to exercise before your last meal and then relax. You do no t want to have a big heavy carbohydrate laden meal as your last meal. Usually we tend to relax after dinner and this will make it harder for your body to lose weight and burn those extra calories. Instead they get processed as stored fat and you now have to exercise harder to get rid of these calories.

Eat light and until full but eat your last meal filled with protein and vegetables, salads and good old water as the drink of choice. Your stomach does not realize water is not food so it can be used as an appetite suppressant.

Your diet is not a failure if all you are losing is one or two pounds a week. This is the correct amount as you allow your body the opportunity to get used to new foods and exercise. You may initially lose more than one or two pounds but some of this weight may be water and if you have a large amount of weight to lose be patient and let the plan along with exercise work. You did not get overweight on a few weeks so do not expect to lose it in a few weeks it takes time but even losing a small amount of weight you will soon be able to feel and enjoy the differences.
