Simple cake recipes that you will surely enjoy


1 egg
½ teaspoon vanilla

Method:
1. Make pastry and line 10-12 Patty cans with it.
2. Cream margarine and sugar until it is light and fluffy.
3. Beat eggs and gradually add the vanilla.
4. Stir in grated coconut.
5. Put some 'jam in each pastry case and cover with the mixture of coconut.
6. Place folded strips of dough on top and bake at 400 º C for 20-25 minutes.
7. When cakes are brown and well cooked, let them cool on a wire tray before serving on a doily.

Peanut Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:
4 oz flour
2 ounces margarine
1 oz and a half. castor
1 oz nuts (fried, peeled and chopped)
½ teaspoon vanilla

Method:
1. Grease two baking sheets.
2. Sift the flour into a bowl and rub in margarine.
3. Strain the chopped nuts. Keep aside large pieces and add the chopped nuts into flour.
4. Add sugar and mix.
5. Separate the eggs and add 2 tablespoons water and vanilla to the egg yolk.
6. Add eggs to flour and stir quickly a hard dough. Add more water if necessary.
7. Knead the dough lightly with a pastry board and roll into a thick ...>".
8. Cut into rings or ring with engraving cutters. Over the cookies carefully with a table knife or baking pan.
9. Brush top with egg white and sprinkle remaining nuts on top.
10. Bake cookies for 15-20 minutes in a moderate oven, 350 º F, until they are light brown.
11. Cool for a minute or two cookies on the baking sheet before lifting onto a wire tray to cool further. Cookies keep in an airtight jar.
